Do You Love Nasal Spray?

Nasal Spray

I must confess, I absolutely love nasal spray. Before you abandon this blog as the ravings of a congested madman, let me explain. I’ve had a cold for the last week, and during this time my nose has been jammed to the rafters. Breathing through my nose has been difficult if not impossible. I’m sure you can relate.

Nose spray is an absolute life saver for me. Just a couple shots of the magical mist and I’m suddenly breathing better than when I’m not sick (which is probably a bad sign). Nose spray makes a bad cold much more manageable. I truly am grateful to God for the gift of nose spray!

Okay, now it’s your turn. Today is “Grateful For Little Things Friday”. What’s one normal household item that you are truly grateful for and why?

  1. I’m grateful it wasn’t raining this morning as I was walking the 1/2 mile into my office from the parking lot.

    I couldn’t find my umbrella! :)

  2. I’m thankful for the internet, which allowed me to order your brother a wedding gift today! A bit late, I know, but I’m not that good with getting the gifts out. On that note, I’m thankful that the internet allows me to order a gift for Ben and Jan . . .

  3. I am thankful for syrup! Otherwise my pancakes would be dry and tasteless.

I’m thankful for the peppermint growing profusely in my garden…peppermint tea, hot or cold, is the best!

PS - Stephen, caution - although it’s tempting, I know, don’t overuse the nasal spray, it can actually cause inflammation which means you’ll be “stuff-ier”! (maybe you already knew that - sorry, it’s just the “mom” in me!)

I am thankful for homeopathics, because they give me an excuse to eat cool stuff like arsenic, Nux Vomica, and Phosphorous

I’m not sure that they actually work, but hey, it sounds pretty awesome.

  7. Also, watch that nasal spray for other reasons.

My nose would bleed after too much use of that stuff. Yuck.

Yeah, you’re right, I need to be careful with nose spray. Too much of it and I’ll be hooked and getting rebound congestion. I guess I just need to get over this cold!

I’m grateful for flush toilets. Life would be much less pleasant without them!

    Cannot live without my Chapstick!!

TP. Shudder at the thought of life before TP.

(I am also grateful for your cold. Otherwise, you might not have reminded me to be thankful this morning.)

  12. I’m grateful for the wooden backscratcher my daughter bought me. It is a wonderful thing and used daily. :-)

  13. I love my hand vacuum! If my son makes a mess or I need to quickly get up some dog hair (inside dog- anyone want him! j/k) my hand vacuum is always there to come to the rescue. I’m very thankful for it.

Oh- there’s so many other little things too (my apple peeler, kitchen shears,)…I’ll stop, you just asked for one!

  14. Oh and my head hurts thinking about sniffing any kind of liquid up my nose. Ouch. Glad it serves you though!

Trillia - It’s probably not such a good thing to be sniffing liquid up my nose, but I sure am grateful for it now!

  16. I’m grateful for nasal spray…but mine’s an antibiotic spray for my allergies…life would be so sad without it. ;-)

Thanks for being so random, I love it! :-)

  17. Toothbrush! Couldn’t imagine living without one. Ick.

  18. Air conditioning. Praise God!

Nasal Spray is usually my close friend also, but given my current belly bump, they tell me it’s a no-no. Something about shooting chemicals directly into your brain is apparently unhealthy for wee ones. Who woulda thought? :)

  19. This may sound very materialistic at first, but I’m so thankful for God granting people the intelligence to invent computers. Allow me to explain… If it weren’t for comptuers, my faith would be SO weak. Not only because I can read blogs and check out Christian websites such as this one, but because I have formed so many relationships and have been able to continue relationships with people when I have no way of meeting with them in real life. This has helped strangthened my faith as well in the fact that I’ve been able to learn a lot more of peoples’ perspectives of the Christian faith and even their faiths. Am I the only one that thinks that??

    I’m thankful for ice cubes!
