Hey Stephen!
Great post, and very timely! Thank you! It is so amazing the way God redeems our brokeness and turns it into good for His glory. I'm reading "Lost In the Middle" by Paul David Tripp right now and the chapter I'm in is "God's story and suffering" this post reminded me of something I read there, "I am deeply convinced that we need to be preaching the theology of uncomfortable grace to one another. Peter says that the trials that grieve us are the trials of grace. God is patiently and persevering doing exactly what He promised. He is delivering us from sin and forming us into the image of His Son."
Thank you for preaching some uncomfortable grace!
Blessings

YellerDaisies - Yeah you're so right. As I read through Genesis I'm struck by how patient and kind God is. For thousands of years he's patiently put up with us. Such kindness.

Stephen, as I read your post, I was struck by the patience of God. It dawned on me that God could have ended the world as soon as Adam and Eve sinned (for that matter He could have never made it!). Or He could have chosen to end the world as soon as He redeemed sinners at the cross. But, He has chosen to redeem and have patience with stubborn, stiff-necked humanity for thousands of years. His patience and kindness (to allow many to be saved and His glory to go out even further) is amazing. What an incredible God we serve.
