Sovereignty in 140 Characters

sovereign

Can you capture some of the mystery and majesty of the sovereignty of God in 140 characters or less? It’s like trying to capture the wind in a thimble. But give it a shot. It will force you to be concise and precise in your doctrine.

So here’s how it works:

  • Today’s doctrine is THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD.
  • If you use Twitter, post a Tweet that explains this glorious doctrine. Put the tag #systheol on the Tweet so others can find it.
  • If you don’t use Twitter, leave a comment explaining God’s sovereignty in 140 characters or less.

Let’s do it.

Here’s my stab at it.

Sovereignty: No step is taken, no action put into motion without God’s active planning, involvement, and care.

Sovereignty: Omnipotent, infinite, splendid majesty exerted to glorify God’s perfections, name and Son in all things

The supreme, independent, always effectual power of God that causes all things, good & bad, to work together for Christ’s glory & our good.

This is fun! Here’s another try.

The effectual, loving power of God to cause every event in time and eternity to work as means to His predetermined and perfect end.

Sovereignty: No matter the circumstance, nothing happens without God’s power, planning and care. He is in control and He is always good.

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
