I just finished reading “The Hidden Smile of God” by John Piper, which profiles Bunyan’s life…and in searching my bookshelves was appalled to find that I didn’t own my own copy of Pilgrim’s Progress.

I’ve heard about this book. They say that it describes an account where they tried collectivism/communism and everyone nearly starved to death, then they switched to private property/capitalism and everyone prospered. Is that account really in there?

Over the course of the last few months, me and a friend (and room mate) have been inviting Mormon (LDS) missionaries into our home in an attempt to share the true gospel of Christ crucified with them. One “elder” (Mormon missionary) we have formed a friendship with left his “mission” a few weeks ago. The night before he left we had a going away party for him, shared Jesus with him one more time, and gave him several books, including The Pilgrim’s Progress.

Story on my blog here: http://graceliberation.blogspot.com/2009/08/gospel-for-mormons.html
