If I were afflicted by a disease and confined to my bed, never able to do another “good deed” again, could I rest in the finished work of Christ?
If I lost my job and never found employment again, or my ministry at church was shut down, could I find my total identity in Christ?
If I came under heavy criticism that continued for the rest of my life, could I rejoice in my total acceptance in Christ?
The mere fact that God tells me to stay inside the gospel at all time must mean that He intends to supply all of my needs as long as I am abiding in that place of luxury. (Milton Vincent, The Gospel Primer for Christians)

Pretty good insight there, Stephen. Something I came very much face-to-face with when I was laid off from my job some years ago.
Thanks for commenting Rick. Wow, it seems like being laid off would really force you to wrestle with this!
Stephen,
Thanks for this post, and your suggestion regarding Ray Ortlund's blog. I added it to my RSS reader right away.
Makes my post today about J.K. Rowling's to-do list seem rather silly. Actually, silly is what I was after to tell you the truth.
Thanks Dave. You won't regret reading Ray Ortlund's blog!
