Today one of my co worker said she had this phrase in her mind. I looked it up on the inernat and found this song which I have loved singing for years. We both said the same thing that He the writer had to have gone through this as a phase in his life, just as we are dealing with things today, to write these beautiful words

Wow Stephen,
I really needed this tonight. I've been going through the "desert" and have been feeling so distant from the Lord. What a great thought , that even when I don't sense God's presence very strongly, He's still right there. Thanks for yet another great word of encouragement!

This call to stand upon the rock is exactly what my son and I are reading as we work through the first couple of chapters in Dug Down Deep by Joshua Harris, as part of our church youth group.
