“But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality…” (Ephesians 5:3 NIV)
Not even a hint. Not even a hint. Not even a HINT of sexual immorality. Paul doesn’t write, “Don’t sleep around with people you’re not married to.” He says, “There must not be even a hint of sexual immorality among you.”
The ESV says, “But sexual immorality…must not even be named among you…” Strong words.
Is there even a hint of sexual immorality in our lives? In the television shows we watch? In the books we read? In the way we interact with members of the opposite sex? In our wandering thoughts? In our Facebook usage?
Have you ever found yourself watching or reading something and saying to yourself, “It’s not that bad,”? Do you ever find yourself saying of sexual temptation, “I can handle it,”?
By the power of the Holy Spirit, let’s fight against sexual immorality so that there’s not even a hint.

Sexual Sin bring us to the point of idolatry, and this continue to the point where we grow cold toward God and his Word.

Amen Stephen! We need to hear more preaching that convicts us to aggressively fight against sexual sin, even the temptations that lead to it. Great post.
