Wow, I missed the last couple posts here. I wrote about being interested in 2008 (I think)... it's fantastic to hear the confirmation. Thank you, Jesus... I'm not the only one who thinks we should be just... I don't know... slightly more interested in people. :>)

Yep I can relate to that. I always have something I "have" to do. I'm just making excuses.

When I was part of a worship team, I appreciated that when I met visitors before the service started, I only had to talk to them for a few minutes ("Glad you're here this morning; thank you for coming; are you new in the area?" ) before I could say "Well, I have to go now because we have to start the music." Yep, I was BUSY all right. Then after the service there was always some "legitimate" (really?) worship team business to attend to, which really meant that I was staying within my CZ and talking to the people on the team. That was SO much easier than meeting new people. I love how Piper busts me with "I'm not talking clever strategy here; I'm talking you're REALLY interested." Being shy, I've learned some good tricks for talking to people, which is not a bad thing, but he's right, we should be genuinely interested in them, not just going through the motions or using it as a means to something else. Guess what I'm really afraid of is that they'll say something that stumps or scares or paralyzes me. I need to grow in this area.

I think if you double click on the video, it will take you through to the original, which has the original message title.
