For me, relationships are a big thing, and my ministries tend to be inevitably group things, like parenting, spouse-ing, working, leading (or following) in worship, leading a home group...  There&#039;s relational fruit that comes from it that is really refreshing.  There are other ways, too, but that one is big. 
 
The other way that is worth mentioning, at least for those of us who are a bit skeptical, is the personal assurance that really can&#039;t be described, but it&#039;s there sometimes.  It just sort of happens at times, usually connected with submission to Christ. </description>

Great comments - I agree.  We always gain more than we give when we work for Christ.  That definitely includes serving others in ways like you mentioned.  Though we can think of serving others as draining, the &quot;fruit&quot; that comes from it is truly refreshing.   
 
I agree, there is a sense of assurance that comes in serving Christ - not that our serving merits anything, but that often we sense Christ&#039;s pleasure in our obedience and work for him. </description>
