We have been re-emphasizing the biblical content of the Gospel at our church over the last number of months and would love to have this as a resource in order to continue to grow in my own understanding of the Gospel and to help the people in our church grow in their knowledge so they can communicate it to others.

I need this book; I have so many questions about this topic because I think I'm one that doesn't understand.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have this book. I'm 18, and currently teach a bunch of highschool students apologetics and theology, and would be such a blessing to have this book to better equip me to teach them, and to share with them.

Just as a deep sea diver must dive deep into the depths of the sea to find precious pearls, so must a Christian dive deep into the understanding of the Gospel to find its treasures hidden beneath the surface! Extra resources like this are vital to such studies and I would love a copy. :)

As a poor college kid I would love to get my hands on a copy of this book! Even if im not lucky enough to win a copy I agree with you Stephen that I think its worth forking out some money to get! We must always be reminded of what the Gospel is!

Skimmed this book yesterday on the Crossway site. I'm seriously considering making this required reading for all of our small group leaders. Thank you for recommending great resources. If I were to win this book, I would give it to a young leader in our church who is working diligently to build a solid gospel foundation for his small group. These are impressionable young adults who often come to us with a warped understanding of the gospel.

I am a young pastor planting a church in Brazil, in a town where most people believe that the Gospel is the message about how Jesus came to earth, died and rose again in order to give me victory over the evil of unhealthyness, over the evil of unemployment and so on… so yes… This book could be very helpful to me, and I would love to read it an them use it as the base of a Sunday School class.

I would desperately love to win this book so I can walk the volunteers in our missional evangelism ministry through exactly why we do what we do. And drive home to them the importance and eternal implications of the Gospel.

I would LOVE to get a copy of this book because the gospel is core to everything that we are and everything that we do.

Having participated in several similar book giveaways in the past, I have no more arms to offer. But I'd really like to have this book anyway.

Yes, I want a copy of this book, and while I won’t be giving my right arm for it (nor am I willing to) :) I really want to read it. We are admonished to be ready to defend the faith, and as a young Pastor’s Wife (associate Pastor’s Wife) to be precise who is still relatively new in her walk I could seriously use it!!!

You've utterly convinced me that I must have this book. You are absolutely right — We HAVE to get the Gospel right!! I would love to win a copy b/c if it's as good as you say it is, I plan on buying several others for my Christian friends to really show them how far-off most modern-day evangelism has gotten from presenting the true Gospel. But not just for the sake of proving a point; Like you said, someone is NOT saved without the Gospel, so misrepresenting it is a failure of unimaginable proportions. Oh, and yes I'd give my arm for this book, but if you give it to me, I won't have to :)

I would give up my birthright (Esau-style) for this book.

…umm…actually, maybe not. God wasn't so happy with that kinda thing. Rather, I would give up my poor attempts at being witty on the internet for this book.

Brother Altrogge,

I would love to win a copy of the book. If it anything like the blogs Greg posted on the gospel on the 9 Marks site a couple years ago, then it will be edifying and life-giving. I used some of the material from Greg's posts in a lesson during a personal evangelism series in our Bible Fellowship Group. I would love to have the extended version, via this book.

I really do want this book badly for many reason. Being BoldLion for Christ, I need to learn how to reach out to other to explain to them the true meaning what is the Gospel. I too need to learn more about it for myself as well. I do have a big heart to reach out to other to explain to them how to live their life for Christ.

I am planning to share this on the facebook and post this information on my blog so that other can too enter into this wonderful contest.

I would love to win a copy of this book! If I don't win it, I may have to buy it, which telling you that probably doesn't increase my chances of winning it, but it is true.

I am a Pastor at a little church (http://www.edgewood-danville.org) and in my desire to reemphasize the gospel at church, I have been amazed by grace.

As a teacher at a little public school (http://www.grf.k12.il.us/newgrhs/Staff/Staff.htm), I don't know if I could do what I do if that grace wasn't so amazing.

If you give me a copy, it will be read and shared.

I really need this book. I am training twelve church planters in India(6 in Ranchi and 6 more in Indore) and I was with them just two weeks ago there in India beginning a three-year process of equipping them to plant churches, and I'll be back with the same twelve men starting May 27 again for another two-week round of training. I'd love to get a copy of this book and potentially supply all twelve of these church planters who are going against the tide of Hinduism every day — with this book. So … I'd really put it to amazing use!

I would not give my right arm as I am left armed, uh…left handed. The thought that I could be a Christian for so many years and have some watered down version of the what the Gospel means in my thinking makes me desperately desire this book. I would give my left arm for it.

I want this book to share with the teens in our church. A few weeks ago our youth pastor asked the youth group “what is the gospel?” and it took 6 kids answering before someone came even close to giving a right answer. I desperately want this book. I probably won’t win based on statistics but if not I am buying the book and probably multiple copies to give away.

Reply

Jimmy Davis April 9, 2010 at 1:26 pm

I am a youth and discipleship pastor, aiming to equip the young and old of our small congregation with the gospel so that we might become a Christ-centered community on Christ's mission to multiply the glory and goodness of God throughout all creation. Without the gospel we'll never be the people of God we were created and redeemed to be. This is serious stuff. I need the gospel more than I need this book, but having the book would help us know more deeply what the Bible says the gospel is and does. Thanks for the review!

Reply

vizaviz April 9, 2010 at 1:28 pm

Greg, I'd like a copy. There's plenty of "Gospel-talk" that isn't about the Gospel. Our church sees a fair share of that, so it would be good to commend as a resource to the pastoral staff. It'll end up in our church library after I get some other copies for the rest of the staff and deacons. Thanks again for the opportunity.

Hey Mark…thanks for the chance to win a free book. I work for a Christian TV network and have only recently encountered the doctrines of grace. I've also learned that many people (esp. pastors and teachers on TV) in my "assumed gospel" world haven't a clue what the gospel really is. They've turned it into a bazaar mix of health, wealth, prosperity and idolatry. I pray that everyone who is teaching a false gospel would "get" the message of this book.

I've been a Christian since I was five, (and I'm now 25) but have been so blessed over the past few years to really dive into what it means to LIVE in the light of the gospel everyday. Amazing!

I would love to win a copy of this book because I think it would be helpful in my Friday night ministry of street evangelism! I love engaging people – young, old, business professionals, homeless – in coversations about the gospel, about the good news of Jesus Christ!
