21 POWERFUL Bible Verses About The Future (Peace + Hope)

At one time or another, all of us will face times when our future is uncertain. You don’t know what God’s will is for your life. In these times, Bible verses about the future are crucial for sustaining your faith. You need verses about trusting God to encourage your soul.

Maybe you’re about to graduate from college and have no idea what’s next. Perhaps you just lost your job. Or you’ve just moved to a new area where you know no one.

Maybe you’ve just started a new job and feel overwhelmed at the challenges that loom before you. Maybe you’re single and wonder if you’ll ever get married. Your life may even be so uncertain you don’t know where your next meal will come from.

Whatever the case, you’re tempted to feel worried about the future.

Whatever the case, you feel worried about the future and need God to help you overcome fear.

Hope For The Future

The reality is that none of us are secure in this world except in Christ. Nothing is certain. We aren’t guaranteed our next meal. We aren’t even guaranteed our next heartbeat.

Even when we feel secure, we are incredibly fragile and completely dependent on the Lord for every breath.

But when we are tempted about the future it is important for us to meditate on these unshakeable, always true Bible verses about the future. We can know God is good through the scriptures. In the scriptures, he makes it VERY clear that our future is secure in him.

My suggestion would be to copy these Scriptures about the future and put them somewhere so you can see them regularly, like in your Bible or on your fridge. Even if you only meditate on the first three or four, God will use his word to encourage your heart.

If you find yourself struggling with fearful thoughts, meditate on these Bible verses about the future and be encouraged. These verses speak to your worry and fear and anxiety.

Let the word of God give you the peace that passes understanding.

Bible Verses About The Future To Give You Hope and Peace

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Are you struggling to trust God? Do you worry that he doesn’t have good plans for your future? You can take heart, knowing that even if things look out of control, God has plans for your welfare. He has plans to bless you, and your future is filled with hope.

You can trust in Jesus Christ to do good to you, both now and in the future. You may not know the plans you have for the future, but God does!

Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32:8

You may not know the way to go, but God does. He knows exactly where he’s leading you, and you can be sure it’s to a place of green pastures and still waters.

He will instruct you and show you the way. He will counsel you with his eye upon you. You can trust God that he’s taking you to pleasant places.

Psalm 37:37

Mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace. Psalm 37:37

Because you are IN Christ, you are blameless and upright. This means that there is a future that is full of blessing for you. You can have hope for the days ahead, not because of your own personal righteousness, but because you are in Jesus Christ.

Scriptures About The Future To Encourage You

Romans 8:32

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things. Romans 8:32

If God didn’t spare his own Son to save you, you can trust him with whatever circumstances you find yourself in. Think about it for a moment. He didn’t even spare his son.

Won’t he do good to you? Won’t he bless you and take perfect care of you? Yes he will. This verse gives you great reason to trust in God.

Proverbs 23:17-18

Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day. Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 23:17-18

Right now, it may feel like everyone has hope for the future except you. You look around and even those who aren’t following God seem to have good things coming their way.

But take heart, surely God has a bright future for you. There is much hope for the days to come.

Proverbs 24:13-14

My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:13-14

Because you are God’s child, you can be confident that he will give you wisdom. And because he will give you wisdom, you can be sure that you will have a future and a hope.

When you have the wisdom of God, you don’t need to fear the future. Rather, you can entrust yourself to God who knows all things.

Matthew 6:31-33

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6: 31-33

It’s easy to become anxious about how you’re going to pay the bills or provide for your family. You can be sure, however, that if you seek God above everything else, he’ll handle all the little details of your life.

If God provides so generously even for those who don’t follow him, you trust him to provide even more generously for you.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. John 10:27-29

Nothing can ever snatch you out of Jesus’ hands. Not life or death, sickness or bankruptcy. Jesus is the Great Shepherd and you are one of his sheep.

Encouraging Verses About Your Future

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

God has promised that he will NEVER leave you or forsake you, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. Yes, there will be times when God leads you through fiery trials and deep waters. But just as he was with Israel when they went through the Red Sea and with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, so he’ll be with you. The flood waters won’t overwhelm you and the fire won’t consume you.

Isaiah 26:3

Isaiah 55:8-9

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

You don’t know the future and don’t even know all that God is doing right now in your life. But God’s ways and thoughts are infinitely higher and better than your ways and thoughts.

You can trust God to lead you according to his infinitely good and better ways. He is guiding you according to his ways and not yours.

Luke 12:32

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32

God has made you a citizen of his everlasting kingdom, and that kingdom cannot be stopped. You have a future and a hope because you are part of God’s glorious kingdom.

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
